The final few months of 2019 saw the emergence of a startup digital news platform on the Australian media landscape.
Called Ticker TV, the innovative platform seemingly came out of nowhere and within no time had piqued the interest of Australia’s business community.
Ticker founder and CEO Ahron Young – was recently quoted in mediaweek: “In three short months, Ticker has grown from a 20-minute show on a Monday morning into 21 shows a week, spanning six hours a day, five days a week.
“We can’t wait to get these guys and girls on the air. Australia is calling out for this sort of smart, edgy and local business content. Everyone has that great idea, we want to be the place where you can come and get tips on how to turn that idea into a successful business,” said Young, a former Melbourne bureau chief and news anchor at Sky News.
Ticker broadcasts daily to the world from its studio at YBF Ventures in Melbourne. Its programs are available as a continuous streaming service on the Ticker website, its mobile app (available for download from the iOS App Store), as well as Twitter and Facebook Live.
Keep an eye out for Ticker. It clearly demonstrates that the media landscape continues to evolve in this country.
Introducing Brand Builders on Ticker …
I’m pleased to announce that I’m hosting one of those 21 shows on Ticker.
Called Brand Builders, the weekly half-hour show looks at the many and varied elements that go into building a successful and trusted brand in today’s always-on, digital-first world. I’ve already live-streamed two episodes (see below); the show broadcasts live every Wednesday at 1 pm.
Episode #1 – Guests Heath Evans & Jordyn Evans (replay)
The first episode of Brand Builders featured guests Heath Evans, from Melbourne Accelerator Program, and Jordyn Evans, founder of Mingle Seasoning.
Theme of the show was building a brand from scratch.
Episode #2 – Guests Jim Stewart & Alister Robbie (replay)
In episode number two, I chatted with Australian SEO legend Jim Stewart about all things search, Google and the importance of brand.
Producer/director Alister Robbie and I then chatted about creating video for your business, and the different ways you can go about it.
I’m rapt to be part of the Ticker crew, especially at such an early stage of its development.
The first time I saw Ticker in action, it resonated immediately, so it will be great to watch first-hand as it establishes itself as a genuine media channel of the future.
Below is a video replay of an interview Ahron did with me during the early days of Ticker in which we discussed aspects of my new book, Content Marketing for PR.
