As a communication coach, Trisha Lewis helps her clients remove barriers to success and unleash their full potential.
Part of her role is to help people manage their ‘inner critic’ and overcome what’s known as ‘Impostor Syndrome’
Trisha describes Impostor syndrome as an irrational and pervasive feeling of self-doubt. A sense that you are getting away with it – you are a fraud and you will be found out soon! Putting success down to luck rather than your skills. Comparing yourself to others and having a sense that everyone else has got it together – and they will realise that you haven’t.
Imposter Syndrome is very common amongst professional experts, emerging thought leaders, speakers, authors and entrepreneurs.
Indeed, it’s a major barrier that often stops smart and passionate people from publishing their own content, sharing their stories and ideas in public, getting up on stage and speaking, and positioning themselves as a go-to informational resource on a particular topic.
As Trisha says: Don’t spend too long inside the cage of Impostor Syndrome – unleash your potential!
